Lesson17 - Ideas for a successful websites

Steps creating a click-ready website

If you are thinking of creating a website for your business but don’t know how to make it effective. We have a compiled a list that you can use as a reference to see if your website is up to the mark or not.

Firstly while designing your site you should first develop a plan that will help you put together your marketing strategies. The content and the graphics will play a very important role in your site and will tell others about your marketing strategies. Make sure that the content and the graphics that you will use are consistent to the strategy; which will relate to the cause of your website.

Your next should be to hire a website company to make your website for you. The company that you choose should be the one that will understand your marketing strategies the best. The company should not be the one that will fill the site with all kinds of technical enhancements that your site gets bogged with their graphics and scripts. At the same time you should also keep an open ear for suggestions that they have to offer. Most web companies have this problem when faced with clients who want nothing more than what is asked for. Although the design suggested by the design company is a master piece.

One of the most common oversights in a site is the upload time of the site. You should check how long a page takes to load in your browser. The average industry speed is centered around 58kbps. If your page takes more than 12 seconds; to load more than on a 58K connection, than your site spells trouble. The longer it takes for a web page to load the more clients you are going to loose.

Although you may hear the word to make your professional as possible you should also bear in mind that it has to be made with simplicity in mind. Maneuverability should be the easiest thing to do in your site. The visitor should take a maximum of three clicks to get to where he would want to go. The more clicks the more irritated they get which would eventually lead to closing of the site page.

Develop content so that it is ready for people to read without tiring them. Restrict your content to a paragraph only. Do not let all the information; get them interested to call you. This is important as you don’t want to give them the whole idea at once. Make them curious and the desire to learn more about you. Once you have them calling you, the sales force will handle the rest.

You will have to get your site optimized for search engines. Search for eight or ten words that is related to your site and can be used for searching your site. Once you have done that; you need to submit your site to different search engines. Avoid submitting site where it can be submitted for free. Pay some money and have it submitted on some of the well known search sites such as GOOGLE, Yahoo etc.

Keeping the above in mind we are positive that your site will be lead in the right direction and on the road to success. These steps are not restricted to the initial process but are a life long process till the business is a part of your life.
